Double Storey Basements for Two Kensington Townhouses
MJ Rooney used an innovative underpinning system to realise this two-storey Basement in the fastest possible timeframe. The design solution involved hand excavating 9 m deep shafts to install columns onto pad foundations and installing 9 m high wall sections of underpinning. These deep foundations were used to support the building structure and allow formation of a Ground floor concrete early in the construction sequence for top-down construction to commence.
