TONBRIDGE WELLS BASEMENT

MJ Rooney undertook the construction of an extensive basement project beneath a period property in Tonbridge, Kent. This project involved a complex and robust temporary works design, allowing the house to be supported on stilts while we excavated the basement below. Steel sheet piling was employed to provide essential earthworks support around the site, ensuring stability throughout the process.

Designed by Open Architecture and featuring interior design by Croft Structural Engineers, the basement encompasses a swimming pool, leisure area, sauna, steam room, and a cinema. Our meticulous approach ensured minimal disruption to the residence above while delivering a high-quality, functional space below ground. This project exemplifies our capability to manage intricate structural and design requirements in residential basement construction, showcasing our expertise and commitment to excellence.
