Royal Greenwich Business Awards 2019

Exceptional businesses in the borough of Greenwich were honoured at the third annual Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards on Friday 15 February at the InterContinental O2 Hotel, London.

The event was hosted by guest presenter, breakfast TV's Steph McGovern.

After a rigorous judging, MJ Rooney Construction were announced as the Winner of the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2019.

Having seen that MJ Rooney were Employer of the Year at the 2018 Greenwich Business Awards, I really wanted to join the team. I’ve been here for nearly a year and I’ve seen my written and verbal communication skills get a lot better. I’ve also developed time management skills which will help me in my future career.

Dermot Rooney Director of MJ Rooney:

We see apprentices as a core part of any business. There’s a lot of young people and people changing careers who want to gain more skills before coming in to the industry. We’re aiming for 90% of our team to have NVQs ensuring that people have the right level of training and qualifications for the job.
